Series of initiatives designed to direct air link Skiathos with Israel, have made the island entrepreneurs who are active in the field of tourism. The aim is to establish a direct connection from the international airport of Skiathos with Tel Aviv and if will be successed the contacts that are in progress, is estimated to be feasible in the season, the realization of the ambitious goal. Apart from the traditional destinations which are identical with mainly European countries, wiil be added new destinations in the program of international air arrivals to the island Papadiamantis, such as Munich, St. Petersburg and hopefully, and Tel Aviv.

Speaking to TAXYDROMOS Mr. Alekos Efstathiou, travel agent with broad activity in Skiathos, states inter alia that "this time the British market is evolving positively, Nordic is unchanged compared to last year, the Russian airplane that has already started several reservations and in the meantime I will have meeting with Israelis, with purpose to add another plane, which operates direct flight from Israel to Skiathos. " The contacts "are in the phase of finalizing the product" as stated by Mr. Efstathiou, who adds that "if there is the right product, there will be a corresponding direct route."

The business interesting for Israel is strong and as the same tour operator says” I have visited many times Israel and next week I will travel with other entrepreneurs in Tel Aviv, where we will hold meetings with companies on the sidelines of the International Tourism Fair will be held on February 5,6,7,8." Given the intense interest that has been expressed on the part of the Israelis, it is estimated that if the goal succeed, will start, possibly this year, organized visits of Israeli tourists in Skiathos.
